Description
Founded by local home brewers in 2009, Straight to Ale has quickly grown to become one of Alabama’s largest production breweries.

In the summer of 2016 we opened our new 55,000 square foot facility at Campus 805, reclaiming a long vacant Middle School campus on the edge of downtown Huntsville and turning it into a thriving community of breweries, bars, restaurants, and local shops. At this new location, we expanded to include cider and mead production along with distilled spirits (Shelta Cavern Spirits), a scratch made kitchen (Ale’s Kitchen), a pinball arcade and pool room (Ronnie Rayguns).

Keg at BrewDog Leicester. Cola brown with a hint of mahogany, mostly opaque with a small ring of beige head. Peaty, malty smell with light notes of stone fruit and rubber. Tastes gorgeous: peaty, smoky, rich. Chocolate and more stone fruit in the finish which has a more balanced character from the earthy hop. Short finish. Carbonation is soft to medium, and the body is quite thin considering the ABV. All things considered it's a brilliant Scotch ale with a unique, complex flavour.

Keg tap at BrewDog Leicester. It's hard to see properly in here but the colour looks magenta-ish or black cherry, opaque and flat. Light sour aroma, balsamic vinegar, sour cherry, red wine. Bitter/tart on the taste, a good bit of black cherry and red liquorice up to the finish. Carbonation is very soft which is fine for this beer. A very nice not-too-sour sour.

12 oz. can. Pours an opaque black color with faint mahogany highlights. Thick tan head with very good retention. Decent lacing. Dark malt, dark cocoa and milk aroma. Flavor is dominated by deep roasted barley, with a nice smooth mellow finish, thanks to the milk. Heavy enough mouthfeel yet easy drinking. Really good.
