Description
Founded by local home brewers in 2009, Straight to Ale has quickly grown to become one of Alabama’s largest production breweries.

In the summer of 2016 we opened our new 55,000 square foot facility at Campus 805, reclaiming a long vacant Middle School campus on the edge of downtown Huntsville and turning it into a thriving community of breweries, bars, restaurants, and local shops. At this new location, we expanded to include cider and mead production along with distilled spirits (Shelta Cavern Spirits), a scratch made kitchen (Ale’s Kitchen), a pinball arcade and pool room (Ronnie Rayguns).

First up the Coffee beer:

Straight to Ale Stout at the Devil
Oatmeal stout with coffee 7.8%

Deeply plum brown so that in certain lights it looks black with thin fizzy beige foam. It’s got a nice roasty fruity coffee aroma. The taste is fruity in a fruit loops vein with a touch of sweetness (lactose?) giving it a bit of a milk coffee feel while the finish delivers some bright berry coffee notes. Alright.

Can from TimE. Deep hazy orange to amber. Fruity nose, stone fruit, mandarin orange, melon. Quite a unique nose. Piny, caramel malt in the flavors, citrus, resins. Fruitiness less interesting than in the nose. Very bitter finish. Old school. Not bad.

Can. Yellow color, medium head, a little lace. Rather bad beer. Does not taste like a "German Ale". Taste is way too bitter. Aroma is straw and hay.

Bottle. Clear, deep amber, mahogany with a small head. Aroma is the usual fruity cake, toffee smell one gets with a doppelbock. The taste was WOW! really nice. May be because I had it after an IPA but man this was good. Nice toffee flavor and yes there was a touch of pleasant fruit/floral hoppyness. Highly recommended.

Taster. Pours a clear, golden color, with no real head. The nose is vanilla, cinnamon, cranberry, peach juice, and maraschino. Sweet and sugary, and a little acidic. Medium body, very slick, and syrupy. Interesting.
