Cask at the London Drinker 2012. Pours brown with a light tan cap. Some milky-mocha notes in the nose. Light sweet flavor with dark malts, mild roast, light burnt wood and light tang. Light bodied with fine carbonation. Smooth. Mildly sweet finish with simple cocoa, roast, ash. It’s a very basic stout, but a decent one at that.

Cask, handpump at The White Swan, Leeds, W.Yorks 18.03.12 in company of dad & Barry Pours gold, looks excellent, cyrstal clear in fact. However looks can be a tad deceiving as it comes across as all to safe and a little bland, There are hops here but overall it is lacking in a hoppy drive and bitterness coming across a touch thin, there is some fruit and whilst it is far from a bad beer I was hoping for a lot better. Cask at the Market Porter. Deep reddish copper in colour with a thin beige head; rich aroma of roasted malts; silky smooth, with a deeply roasted malt flavour and some hints of chocolate and smoke; the finish is strongly bitter with some citric hops and is prolonged and dry. A satisfying pint.
