Black beer, off white head. Light boozy malty aroma. Flavour has loads of the bourbon, some malt, liquorice. It's a bit too much on sweetness and booze for my taste.

440ml can. Poured a clear dark brown colour with a short-lived, light tan head. The aroma is roasty malt, caramel, fudge vanilla. The flavour is moderate sweet, with a crisp, fizzy, roasty, sweet sugary, vanilla, light pepper spice palate. Medium bodied with average carbonation. Somewhat light and clearly brewed for the supermarkets.

Cask at Smithfield, Derby. Pours a very dark reddish-brown with minimal cream head. Chocolate and vanilla stand out in the strong aroma. In the mouth the immediate flavours are dark fruits, alcoholic strength and vanilla. Chocolate and hints of coconut come through later, with an overall syrupy sweetness. Finish is dry and warming. One for sipping – but truly excellent !

440ml can. Cloudy reddish brown with a thin off white head. Big spice aroma, with a little citrus. Flavour is bubblegum, with some spice. Reminds me of Southern Comfort, and unfortunately that's not a good thing
