Handpull cask at the Talbot Taphouse, Ripley. Dark brown, almost opaque with a small beige head. Not so much going on I the aroma, a bit of burnt malt and a faint liquorice character. Sweet taste, laden with caramel. Smooth, sweet finish. Full body, carbonation low to nil. One-dimensional but lively all the same.

Cask, half-pint, shared with Finn at Head of Steam in Leeds. Rich lacing from a decent off-white head. Clear golden body. Moderate grassy hops on the nose. Blended taste of biscuit, grass and a note of citrus. Rounded ending with ripe fruits. Just alright. (28.01.2020).

Can. Hazy orange beer, small pale cream colour head. Smooth palate, slightly dense, reasonable fine carbonation. Sweet malts, some creamy sweetness, touch of grain. Semi sweet piney hops and ripe citrus and citrus peel. Some vague tropical fruits, also ripe. A somewhat heavy dipa, doesn’t slip down easy.

Cask, third, shared with Finn at Crown and Kettle. Cloudy grey-golden body, white head, clingy lacing. Modest citrus nose, mid-dry. Moments of grapefruit and lemon to the taste profile, mid-sweet doughy malts beneath. Malt-fruity ending, semi dry. Fair enough. (Manchester 25.01.2020).
