Bottle, Wallasey Food Fair. A new brewery on me. Deep dark brown pour with a fast fading tan head. Nose had notes of brown sugar, cardboard, cola, ash and roast. Lively carbonation/mouthfeel. Flavour was a bit lacking in fruity hop with some roast, dark fruit and emerging earthy bitterness. Ok, just.

Tasting at Bruce’s pad. Opaque black - brown beer. Good pale tan head. Palate is airy and dry and crisp. Mildly tangy dark malts. Hops are a good sherbet citrus, lemon dominating. Floral hops. Light airy finish. Very nice zingy hops here.

Bottle split at Bruce’s Pad, thanks to Kenny, 04/11/14. Dark mahogany brown with a decent tan covering. Nose is light pine, sweet tunes, brown sugar, caramel, light plastic. Taste comprises tropical fruit notes, bitter orange, pine, a touch more plastic, earthy cocoa rub. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with earthy hop bitterness. Ok CDA, lower end but ticks the boxes.

Keg at the Lyric, Soho - London. Pours deep brown with a thick, tight beige cream head. The nose holds some cocoa, light roast, dark sugars and mellow berry tang. Medium sweet flavor with ripe fruits, berries, black currants, some milk chocolate, burnt toffee, ripe orange, modest bitter earth. Medium bodied with average carbonation. Earthy bitter finish with further ripe, sugary dark fruits, burnt sugars, soft roast and milk chocolate. Not bad.

Cask, gravity dispense, Oxford Beer Festival, Oxford Town Hall. Thursday 16th October 2014 Beer of the festival for me, this was excellent. Fruity and juicy with zippy crushing hops. Light gold in colour, a steady furry bitterness coating roof of mouth and tongue. Citrussy, bitter and dry, super beer. Had another couple of these as the night wore on, and got quite a few others to join my Shindigger fanclub. A7 A4 T9 P4 Ov16 4.0

330ml bottle from Beermoth. Another new Manc brewer!? Pours slightly hazy gold with thin foamy head. Aroma is tropical hops. Taste is lemon, tangerine and tropical flavours, but just doesn’t fully hit the spot for me.

Keg at Lyric, Soho. It pours near black with a medium tan head. The nose is roasted malt, toast, charred wood, earth, jammy berry and some sherbety citrus. The taste is bitter-sweet, roasty, floral, citrus peel, sherbet, pepper, sherbet, candy and charred wood with a dry finish. Medium body and moderate+ carbonation. Not a bad lower duty cda. Carbonation is a touch harsh which detracts a bit from mouth-feel. Decent start to this new brewery.
