Description
Since the brewery was founded, the Gemünder brewery has been brewing excellent beer specialties, such as the Eilfeler Landbier, the Ur-Gemünder Obergärig and now also the Steinfelder Klosterbier, following the best brewing tradition with the highest demands on quality and taste.

The Gemünder brewery is a progressive, family-owned company. It has modern facilities in all work areas. But we are always aware that technology must have no other goal than to make with the greatest care and craftsmanship the best of what hop gardens, grain fields and the good Eifel water offer.

Bottled (Thanks DerDoppelbock!). Pale brown colour with mediumsized off-white head. Aroma is big caramel malts and very "tablebeerish". Flavour is also overall very sweet caramel malts along with some rye. Hides the alcohol well.

Herber, etwas süßer Antrunk. Die Süße geht langsam in einen bitteren Ton über, die Hopfigkeit ist nur sehr eingeschränkt erkennbar. Mild herber Nachgeschmack mit etwas süßem Unterton. Test vom 29.5.2007, Gebinde: Glasflasche Noten: 9,8,9,7,6,9 - 8,40

Bottle at Chris_O London bottlefest March 07. Hazy pale gold colour with some lemon, touch of puke. Lemony citrus comes through. Refreshing. Very lemony finish with good hop too.

Bottle, thanks to Sebastian (DerDoppelbock) for trading!
Pale, yellow body. Frothy, white head. Not very appealing. And apparently lacks aroma as well as the looks: very lightly hoppy nose. Lightly bitter flavour, quite soapy. Very uninteresting.

Malziger Antrunk, leicht fruchtig. Test vom 15.4.2007, Gebinde: Glasflasche Noten: 7,9,9,9,6,9 - 8,65

Sehr schwacher getreidiger Geruch. Test vom 13.4.2007, Gebinde: Glasflasche Noten: 10,10,12,11,8,10 - 10,35

Bottle. Clear medium amber color with a small to average fizzy fair lacing white head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, roasted, caramel, grain, butter. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and light bitter with a long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft, finish feel is light alcoholic. Good :o))

Dark foxy-copper, clear beer with a dirty beige head. Bit woody, lots of caramel, and a bit of lactic acid, strange as it may sound, but unmistakably aroma. Brown cassonade sugar, or this Muscovado kind, too. Not sweet, not sour, but bit woody, light-bitterish taste. Short spicey spell, difficult to put a nam on. Ends wry-ish, but also, as with many of this brewery’s beers, very empty; their Achilles’ heel. Light, not even medium bodied. Watery MF. Strange Alt with a kind of sugared Oud Bruin nose. Weird. Big thanks to Sebastian for the full Gemünder series.
