10th Aug 2018. On tap at the Leverkusen Bierbörse. Golden body, bright, clean and clear; on top a white crown, sadly it quickly vanished into a wisp and collar before I got it back to my table from the stall. Subtle hop and malt esters in the aroma; a typical Kölsch, as in refreshing but lacking in depth and real flavour. Decent balance between the light malts and mildy bittering hops. The stall selling this didn't say if it was a Kölsch, Helles or Pilsner; my notes name all three as the possible style because I couldn't tell (Kölsch was my prefered guess).

Fles gedeelt door Benzai, geprobeerd in Sprang. Het is een troebel geel bier met een volle witte schuimkraag. Het heeft een moutige geur. De smaak is moutig, zacht zoet en wat citrus achtig.

0,33l bottle at home from trade with Erzengel, big thanks for this one. BB 09.07.2018. brown color, medium big off-white / yellowish head which disolves very fast. smells tobacco, dried fruits, nutty, citric, bit milky, caramel. nice smell overall. full body, pearly carbonation, slick mouthfeel. tastes earthy, tobacco, ripe fruits, peppery, honey, caramel. finishes with some earthy bitterness and notes of tobacco, ripe fruits and some pepper. bit weird one, first its rather bubbly but carbonation disolves quite quickly and there is not carbonation at all the on the finish, finish is rather blend. not a big fan of this, rather oily mouthfeel. not very good to drink.

Cloudy pale golden colour, small frothy white head, fairly lasting, light lacing. Aroma malts, yeast, lemon, apple, hay. Mellow taste, medium sweet and light bitter, malty, light citrus notes. Mild sweetbitter aftertaste, bit yeasty, light grassy hops/ Medium body, watery texture, soft carbonation, pleasant and refreshing.

Clear medium golden colour, good frothy white head, dissipates slowly, light lacing. Aroma malts, grain, light lemon, yeast, straw. Taste medium sweet and light bitter, malty, grainy, light lemony. Mild sweetbitter aftertaste, peppery notes, ends with light dusty touch, light to medium body, oily texture, soft carbonation. Refreshing, simple and friendly Kölsch from the Eifel region.
