Description
Proudly Brewed in Yorkshire since 1999

The award-winning Salamander beers was founded in 1999. Dr Daniel Gent (a doctor of brewing and one of Salamander's founders) mission was to bring high quality independently brewed beer to the masses. To this day Salamander continues to surprise and delight its many customers.

And we haven’t lost our touch for beer either.

Brewing ceased in early 2019 and restarted in late Summer 2021.

Draft at the Great British Beer Festival 2013, day 3 - London. Pours clear, deep gold with a foamy topping. The nose holds nutty bread, grains, light citrus. Light sweet flavor with a bit of dried bread, dry orange, light rindy bitterness. Light bodied with fine carbonation; good condition. Clean finish with balanced bitterness, light sugary bread, more orange. A wonderful session bitter.

Cask at the Wellington, Birmingham. Poured a clear dark brown with a reddish hue and a bubbly off white head. The aroma is smoky malt, charcoal. The flavour is liqourice malt with a dry coffee, light chocolate palate. Medium bodied with soft carbonation. A little porter’ish to me, but who really knows the difference! A super beer though.
