Hand-pulled pint at The Pheasant Inn, Wellington, Shropshire on 19th Oct 2019. Black bodied, tanned topping. Malty goodness abounds in this coffee and chocolate tasting Stout. Not too sweet, not too bitter, nice balance.

Keg at IMBC 2019; dark brown pour with a thin light tan head, aroma has black currant and some roast, taste is harsh alcohol and astringent fruit.

Cask at The Square Chapel, Halifax. Dank hazy dark amber with a creamy head. Has a good hopped mango flavour, with less of the fruit available in its nose.

Cask at the Fox & Goose, Hebden Bridge. Black with an off-white creamy-frothy head. It's an understated stout with a light cherry flavour, and a sweet aftertaste for it. Has a mildly sweetened roasted nose.

Bottle from Chester Beer & Wine Very lively this one ! Was fairly careful pouring, but still ended up with a glass completely full of froth. A strong nose of ginger biscuits. Pours jet black with a murky brown head. Mouth has a general sharpness to it. Ginger predominates as you might expect, but also cinnamon and chilli warmth. Liquorice and rye bread in there as well. Finish is ginger – and a burning tongue ! Really like this one – will definitely try it again
