Cask at Petersgate Tap, Stockport. Pours almost black with a sizeable tan head and good lacing. There’s a powerful aroma of roasted malts, plus some hints of oats. This combination again in the mouth, though here the oats are more noticeable. It is slightly sweet, with glavours of cola, dandelion and burdock and hints of dark fruits. Ginish is slightly sweet. This is very nice indeed.

Keg at Craft Bar Pitmedden. It pours lightly hazy deep-darl brown with a small white head. The aroma is bitter - sweet, intoxicating, bourbon soaked oak, vanilla, brown bread, dried fruits, toasted fruit cake, damp wood, light umam and liquorice. The taste is slick, oily, bitter - sweet, toothy, chewy, bourbon soaked oak, light tannin, sticky toffee pudding, dried fruits, raisin, sultana, brown sugar, fruit cake, warming booze, some coffee cake, light char, toasty and some alcohol warmth through the finish. Fulsome body, fine carbonation and slick mouth feel. Rich and toothy. Satisfying stuff.

Keg @ Fox & Goose, Hebden Bridge. Extremely hazy yellow-gold, but not unexpected given its name. Has a density and fullness to proceedings with its strength, with citrus tropical fruit more than evident, producing a lower end citric bitterness.

Stockport Beer Festival 2023. Near black with plenty of hops in this dark malty brew. It doesn't quite feel like its strength as its water has a fairly soft feel.
