Cask @ Gasworks Brewbar, Manchester. Dark golden with a creamy head. It’s well-smoked in its aroma with lots of ham, but less so in taste, which has some berry-fruitiness about it.

Hazy gold - amber beer, good cream colour head. Smooth and mildly sweet malts. Light dry cream. Pithy hops, pithy orange. Light florals. A little spicy bitterness. Whisper of something tropical. Smooth dry finish. Never really gets going, but fine.

Hazy yellow - gold beer, tidy pale cream colour head. Palate is airy, semi dry and has reasonable carbonation. Light and sweetish malts. Light floralness, sweet. Touch of funky seltzer. A mild generic tropical fruit vibe. Light finish. Not bad.

Very hazy amber beer, tidy cream colour head. Palate is smooth and dry, decent carbonation. Light malts, dry and mildly sweet. Floral lemon and mildly bitter herbal lemon. Hop spice. Whisper of lemon sherbet. Pithy dry finish. Not bad, thin and dry but with good flavour.

Bottle. Bier Huis, Ossett. Dirty gold. Film and some suds of off white head. Nose has dry, pale malts. Notes of peach stone. Hint of strawberry. Hint of bubblegum. Not getting much Sorachi, but overall it smells very decent. Taste has an earthy bitterness. A little papery. Turns fairly dry. Little in the way of sweetness. Light body. Prickly carbonation. Earthy and dry finish.

Cask @ Brink, Manchester. Easy-drinking porter with a good smoothness to it Has a mix of dark and roasted malts in both aroma and taste. Dark reddish-brown with a creamy head. Coffee in its nose.

Pig’s Ear Fest. Cask. Opaque black - brown beer, small tan head. Smooth palate, modest fine carbonation. Soft dark malts, mild tang and a mild oaty sweetness. Modest dark fruits. Smooth finish. Notably smooth but otherwise pretty much standard stuff.

Cask at Pig’s Ear Fest, Hackney, London. A black coloured pour with a medium beige head on top. Roasty, malty, chocolate, raspberry aroma. Tastes pretty much the same, roasty, malty, chocolate, raspberries, slightly sweet. Enjoyable stout.

Gravity dispense at Pigs Ear ’16, 29/11/16. Light black with a decent tan head. Nose is earthy red berries, light peppery spice, charr, chocolate, light roasted malt. Taste comprises tarte raspberry notes, chocolate cake, light spice, toffee, black forest gateaux, Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Decent enough stout.
