ABV: 4.8%. Clear dark dark red brown colour with a average, frothy - fizzy and open, good lacing, mostly lasting to diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, roasted, burnt, dark roasted, dark malt. Flavor is moderate sweet and light to moderate bitter with a long duration, malt bitter, roasted, dark malt, sweet malt, roasted bitter. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft to flat. Tap @ IMBC '17. Pours black with a thin pale tan ring. Chocolatey malt aroma. Smooth on the palate, not overly rich or full-bodied, but with a good balanced stout character, roast turned down with choc turned up, black forest cherry influence is subtle but there and perhaps more noticeable if warmed a little. Decent introduction to this brewery.

[ As Thirst Class Stocky Oatmeal Stout ].Clear dark black brtown colour with a small, fizzy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, roasted, oat, chocolate, sweet malt. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and moderate bitter with a long duration, sweet malt, dark malt, ash, chocolate, roasted. Bottle. Turner’s, Sheffield. Pours thick as a bag, dirty brown. Looks well removed from any NE IPA I’ve ever had. Thin and sticky, off white head. Nose has sweet, jammy hop. Some orange pulp. I don’t know why I’m bothering with this. It’s clearly not as intended. It’s well oxidised. Shame. There’s a good beer in here. Somewhere.

Hazy pale amber colour, good frothy off-white head, half-way lasting, heavy lacing. Aroma pale malts, tropical fruits, orange, light pine, grass. Mild taste, medium sweet and bitter, malty, oats, grassy hops, fruity. Sweetbitter finish, light spicy notes, malty, medium body, oily texture, soft carbonation, quite nice.

Bottle. Beer Central, Sheffield. Opens with a fair old hiss. Pours dark gold. Quite hazy. Lots of fast rising, fine bubbles keep a healthy, off white, lacing head. Nose has grilled pineapple. Ripe mandarin. Notes of guava and papaya. Vanilla malts in the background. Smells great. Taste is ripe fruit sweet, with some soft, sappy bitterness. Light body with lively carbonation that doesn’t sit quite right. Light, sappy, citrus bitterness to finish. Decent. Maybe not enough bitterness, and a bit too fizzy, but it disappeared quickly enough.
