Description
Dorset Brewing Company was founded in 1996, when Giles Smeath restored an 800-year-old brewing tradition to the Dorset port of Weymouth in the heart of the World Heritage Coastline (the Jurassic Coast).

Set in the beautiful, historic county of Dorset, this well-loved and respected family brewery has grown in size and stature. From its humble beginnings at the historic Devenish & Groves site in Weymouth, Dorset Brewing Company (aka DBC) relocated in 2011 to Crossways and upgraded to a state-of-the-art spring water-fed brewhouse (The Jurassic Brewhouse), capable of crafting 1.5 million pints a year.

DBC strives to produce an individual product representing the very best of Dorset, leading the way with our popular Jurassic Coast brands. The involvement and support of the family ensures the emphasis is always on quality ales and excellent personal customer care.

On cask at the Haymarket. Appearance - close to black but with beautiful red chinks. Nose - dark chocolate and coffee. Maybe some brambles. Taste - dark chocolate again with a burnt coffee edge on the finish. Vanilla if you look hard enough. Palate - close to medium bodied with a creamy texture and a fairly good finish. Overall - not sure the vanilla and bourbon were in huge abundance but it’s quite tasty.
