Can from Harvest. Pours a dark amber with a finger of beige head that lingers. Toasted caramel malt and pine on the nose with a bit of grapefruit zest. Palate is similar with more pine and resin notes and light touch of smoke and toasted caramel on the finish.

16 oz. can. Pours red, fizzing up to a nice amber foam. Nose is not very distinctive, just a nice note of beer and malt. Nice malty taste to it, and the alcohol wanders in pretty quickly. A bit of phenol in the taste, and that may be because this is a little old (dated 11/2/22). But that's often what I get from doppelbocks. Usually from the imports, not from one made closer to home. Ah, well, it is what it is.

Can, from Trader Joe's, Chicago/ Pours faintly cloudy reddish brown with a very small frothy off-white head that dissipated fast, faint caramel aroma, low carbonation, medium bitter lightly citrusy caramel malt taste, thin body, long citrus finish. It's a strange brew, neither here nor there.

Pour is a chill haze orange with a large white head. Aroma is strawberry with papaya. Flavor is a bright berry with some tropical fruit and maybe some green onion at the end. Lighter mouthfeel than the newer IPA's out these days. Pretty good and flavorful lower abv IPA.

Can from Harvest. Pours a clearish straw gold with a full two fingers of white foam that lingers. White grape, gooseberry and starfruit dominate the nose. More of the same on the palate with some white grapefruit zest that compliments a bone dry, mineral note. Drying finish with pith and tropical fruit rind. Really nice.

Can from Harvest. Pours a clear gold with a finger of white foam that dissipates quickly. Pineapple, melon and sumo citrus on the nose. More of the same on the palate with sumo citrus sweetness alongside tropical fruit notes. Smooth with a relatively low perceived bitterness on the finish.

Can, from a Jewel Osco in Chicago. Pours cloudy dark yellow-ochre with a foamy whitish head, floral grape aroma, adequate carbonation, mildly bitter grape and peach taste, a bit of citrus in the background, smooth body, long fruity finish. Very smooth and with interesting flavors.
