500ml bottle [courtesy of Grumbo, cheers Graham!]. Darkest brown colour with small to average, frothy, moderately lasting, minimally lacing, beige to tan head. Relatively weak, chocolately, minimally roasty, dark malty aroma, hints of dark chocolate, milk chocolate, a touch of toffee and nougat, whiffs of liquorice. Taste dry, roasty and chocolately, dark malty, minimally fruity and spicy, subtle sweetness, notes of dark chocolate, milk chocolate, interludes of liquorice, toffee, coffee, nougat, dark caramel, plum. Watery texture, slightly dry, simultaneously minimally cloying palate, medium to fine, soft carbonation. Covers a wide spectrum of (dark) malt flavours in a rather cautious mode, especially concerning the aroma - nice.

Hand pulled cask pint at The Market Pub, Chesterfield on 27th May 2021. Clean and clear golden body, lasting white head. Slight citrus leanings in the nose and taste, refreshing and pleasant. The best beer I had all day (and I had plenty!).
