GBBF Day 1. Cask. Opaque dark brown beer, small pale tan head. Smooth palate, semi dry, reasonable fine carbonation. Smooth dark malts, hint of tangy sourness. Smooth dry dark chocolate, little soft dark chocolate cream. Whisper of smoke. Smooth tangy chocolatey finish. Not bad at all.

On Cask Coach and Horses, Dronfield - Dark ruby body, thick head. Smoked citrus nose, bit ashy. Taste bitterness from toast notes and fruity notes. Decent, clever name.

330ml bottle from brewery - Rich deep cloudy golden body, thin white head. Nose is figs, apricots, lots of sweet fruits to many to call. The body is syrupy, with a rich sweetness that carries the boozy warmth to the end. A little sickly, but a good winter warmer.

On cask at Coach and Horses, Dronfield - Dark red-black body, long lasting off-white head. Aroma of Peaty, smoky malt, vanilla and chocolate, almost porter like. Flavour similar but with a refreshing fruity hop finish with some acidity, and very smooth mouthfeel. Enjoyable.

On cask at Three Tuns, Dronfield - Clear golden body, thin white head. Nose is strong citrussy hops, sweet sherbet lemons, and some stone fruits. Taste is not cloyingly sweet, but sweet and smooth nonetheless. A little dry and floral on the way out. Very nice effort.
