Cask at GBBF 2018. It pours hazy dark brown with a small beige head. The aroma is sweet, oily, toasty, roasted malt, umami, cacao, leather, toasted nut and fruit cake. The taste is dry, bitter, earthy, charred wood, umami, tannin, spicy, toothy and cocoa with a drying finish. Medium body and soft carbonation. Toothy and ashy. Not bad.

330ml bottle from brewery - Rich deep cloudy golden body, thin white head. Nose is figs, apricots, lots of sweet fruits to many to call. The body is syrupy, with a rich sweetness that carries the boozy warmth to the end. A little sickly, but a good winter warmer.

On cask at Coach and Horses, Dronfield - Dark red-black body, long lasting off-white head. Aroma of Peaty, smoky malt, vanilla and chocolate, almost porter like. Flavour similar but with a refreshing fruity hop finish with some acidity, and very smooth mouthfeel. Enjoyable.

On cask at Three Tuns, Dronfield - Clear golden body, thin white head. Nose is strong citrussy hops, sweet sherbet lemons, and some stone fruits. Taste is not cloyingly sweet, but sweet and smooth nonetheless. A little dry and floral on the way out. Very nice effort.
