Shared courtesy of Grumbo with ITFCDan. Aroma of shortcake, berries, dried fruit and cinnamon. Taste is a bit ashy with chocolate, toffee, roasted malts and dried fruit.

500ml bottle bought at the brewery and drunk at home. Man, this is the gusher. Possibly the gushiest gusher I’ve had, well, ever. I was pleasantly surprised to find there was any beer left. Anyway, it pours mid- to dark brown, only a little translucent and with a massive beige head. Ash, coffee grounds, some Marmite in the aroma. Sweetish taste, ashy coffee, with a slightly sourish bitterness in the finish. Medium body, carbonated on the heavy side. Decent.

Handpull cask at the brewery tap. Mid-brown and clear with a little bit of off-white head. Grassy taste, that clean, atringent and almost sour smell of green hoo. Malty like a typical better in the sweetish taste but there's a pleasant bitterness through to the finish. Light body, no carbonation. I'm not often a fan of green hopped beers but this one is all right (although I'm sure there's an advantage to having it at the source).

Handpull cask at the brewery tap. Dark brown with a fair bit of translucency. Smells of slate, liquorice, grass, yeast extract. Bittersweet taste with a noticeable Guinness-like sourness to the finish. Little bit of blackberry at the end. Medium body, no carbonation. It's decent and worth trying but a little bit odd.

On cask at Drone Valley Brewery Tap - clear gold body, long white top. Clean citrus and honey notes, some cereal, lightly floral.

For a fuggle-hopped beer, this was really good.

Cask at Smithfield, Derby. Pours a dark reddish-brown with minimal off-white head. Aroma is mainly malts with a hint of chocolate. In the mouth it is decidedly sweet and creamy with flavour of cola, roast malts and hints of dark fruits and coffee. Sweetness lasts into the finish. Not bad, but more like a mild than a porter.

500ml bottle from brewery - Cloudy brown, white head, sludgy sediment. Fruity malt loaf, some red wine notes, sharp for a brown ale. Nothing special.

500ml bottle from brewery - Deep brown body, mad off white top. GUSHER. Heavy malty caramel notes are the hero in this one, slightly bitterness at the end. Decent enough body, just took forever to settle.
