Trago corto, disfrute largo y lento, buenisima

Mijn eerste baskische biertje. Aangename kennismaking. Donker , smaakvol, goed rustig schuimkragje. Ook fris en lekker.

Smell of roasted malt, ash, cherry. Black colour, small brown head. Aroma of cherry, roasted malt, tar, rye bread. Lively carbon. Surprisingly light body. Medium sweet, medium bitter. Cherry feels unnecessary here.

Bottle. Jet black, medium brown head. Aroma is sweet, loaded with burnt espresso, soy sauce, intense roast, and bitter cocoa nibs. Mouthfeel is thick and creamy, with a soft carb. Finish is sticky, medium bitter, loads of coffee, and sticky, sweet charred malts. This is a huge old school impy stout. Good stuff!

Bottle from Melger's, Haarlem. Sweet dark malt with oak chips, chocolate, caramel, hint of bourbon. Port is too subtle, it's mostly in the smell. Hoped for way more barrel, this is a bit disappointing.

From tap at Van Moll, Eindhoven. Aroma is very fruity with lots of sweetish tropical fruits including mango and papaya. Flavour is mildly sweet and bitter. Medium bodied. Friendly and easy fruity tropical beer, but hardly worth revisiting.

Bottle from Stanislaus Brewskovitch, Zwolle. Aroma is roasted malt with lots of chocolate, syrupy notes, chocolate brownie, and some alcohol. Flavour is sweet with a medium bitterness. Body is full with a sticky mouthfeel. Boozy and very sweet with mostly dominant chocolate. Good, but I'm not sure this is more than the sum of its parts.

Bottle from Speciaalbierpakket. Aroma is roasted malt with coffee, cocoa, mocha, coconut, and a touch of liquorice. Flavour is medium sweet and moderate to medium bitter. Body is medium to full with low carbonation. Very good coffee and coconut Stout, a little more body and carbonation would have pushed this into the upper levels.

Bottle from De Bierliefhebber. Aroma is softly fruity hops with malt upfront, some caramel, orange, hint of grapefruit, some resin, and a mild herbal touch. Flavour is light to moderate sweet with a bitter finish. Body is medium. Decent but pretty malty, fruity hops are not very fresh.
