[ As Laugar Aupa Tovarisch (Oporto) ].Clear dark black brown color with a large, frothy - creamy, good lacing, fully lasting, beige head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, roasted, chocolate, wood, port - tawny, raisin - prune. Flavour is moderate to heavy sweet and moderate bitter with a long duration, chocolate, sweet chocolate, moderate roasted. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20130927]

Ins Glas ergießt sich ein trübes bernsteinfarbenes Bier mit schöner Schaumkrone. Geruch sehr malzig, fruchtig, hopfig. Geschmack malzig fruchtig, bitter hopfig, Karamell, minimal würzig.

[ As Laugar Hop Shock ].Unclear medium orange yellow color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, white head. Aroma is moderate malty, caramel, moderate to heavy hoppy, orange - citrus, fruity, light pine. Flavour is moderate to heavy sweet and bitter with a long duration, fruity, hoppy. Tasted @ Cervezorama Beerfestival. Cloudy golden colour with a dense white head. Aroma has notes of citrus with some resins hops. Flavor is moderet bittery with some fruity traces. Creamy and dense on palate.

Tap at the BeerTemple, Amsterdam. Poured a clear medium amber with a round bubbly head. The aroma is rich alcoholic sweet and fruity. The flavour is strong bitter with a smooth alcoholic liqourice bitter palate. Medium to full bodied with flat carbonation. I don’t know many British strong ales that are anything like this.

On tap @ Beer Temple as Rye Strong Ale. Hazy amber color. Uneven, off white head. Aroma’s ofsweet fruit, sweets, with malt, toffee and alcohol retronasal. Flavor is moderate to full sweet. Medium bodied. Flavor lingers but no new flavors. Bit one dimensional.
