medium dark amber color. Massive rye whiskey and wood character. The barrel is huge in the nose with some underlying malt sweetness. I love rye whiskey so I like this but if you don’t you will hate this. Palate is all about the whiskey, with any resemblance of hop character bing overwhelmed. Full body and warming. Not remotely balanced, but I liked. The spicy rye finish is awesome.

Draft at the HCMC brewpub. Poured a murky medium brown colour with a thin broken off white head. The aroma is oak and big boozy bourbon. The flavour is like the aroma, plenty of bourbon, with a dry, oaky, grainy, warm boozy alcohol bitter palate. Medium bodied with soft carbonation. Very one dimensional, but I kinda liked it and the alcohol burn was minimal.

Black with a tan head. Aroma is dark roasted malts, some burnt notes, light sweetness from caramel. Medium to full body with somewhat aggressive carbonation. Flavor is similar to the aroma. Not a sweet stout, more dry and brash. Finish is long and a little rough around the edges. It hits hard. I dig this.
