Bottle, RBESG, grand tasting. What a way to start the tasting... a 9.8% Belgian style ale. Poured a lovely dark amber-red with a small off white head. Lovely nose, some red fruit, caramel, alcohol. Nice and pungent. Taste... bitter and sourish, fruity. Light dry chalky spiciness. Piney. Some warming alcohol. Odd, but not in a bad way. Interesting.

Bottle. A hazy, copper-orange brew with a small off-white head. Piney and malty nose with some alcohol, a touch of fluor. Quite hoppy flavor, more on the hoppy side than the aroma is, but still with a nice malty sweetness. Pine and fluor as well. Full-bodied, almost astringent mouthfeel. Lovely bitter finish, citrusy and piney. The alcohol is quite evident, making it feel like it’s stronger than 7.8%. (080530)

Bottle. An almost clear, copper beer with an off-white head. Chocolate, toffee, caramel, some fruits, dried fruits and a nice hoppyness in the aroma. Warming, full-bodied mouthfeel with a nice carbonation level, and flavors of fruit and toffee, some alcohol, sweetness and a nice bitterness. Long sweet, toffeeish finish wit a nice bitterness. Maybe the beer is a bit toffeeish, but it’s still quite lovely. Not the typical Belgian one, rather strange in a way, but in a good way. (080530)

Had this from tank at the brewery, draught at The Rover and Bishops Arms in Göteborg as well as at GW68 in Stockholm. The beer was brewed according to my recepie, but I had no commercial interests in it. Have been thinking about whether or not to rate it, but here goes.Clear amber color, fluffy off-white head. Citrus and grape scent, hoppy and sweet. Grape, citrus hoppy taste, also sweet. Smooth nice mouthfeel, medium bitterness.I still have some bias I guess, but rating for me would be like 9/4/9/4/18=4.4

Dark mahogany color; medium head, reducing quickly. The light aroma shows some Belgian yeast and a sweet candy-like touch. Good mouthfeel, good caramel flavor with some residual sweetness, complemented by the Dugges yeast, a light fruity touch and a very light roasted malt trace. Dynamic, quite complex, fully enjoyable.

Medium beige head does not last. Yellow body with carbonation. Fruity citric citric aroma with malts and strawberry notes. Dry-sweet malty citric taste with fruity roasty strawberry notes. Soft and balanced, with a slightly oily mouthfeel. Quite complex. Good balance, and thus better than High Five. Dry honeyish fruity resiny aftertaste with notes of roasty almonds. Very nice! (0.25l draft at Tre Små Rum, Göteborg.)

Medium beige head. Brown body. Deep citric tropical fruit aroma with notes of mango, lemon, lime, and light roasty malts. Dry peppery citric tropical fruit taste with roasty, dusty malts notes and grapefruity pine needles. Very sharp mouthfeel, somewhat chalky. A bit thin and harsh, could use more body. Very sharp mouthfeel. Bitter grapefruit aftertaste. Nice! (0.4l draft at Tre Små Rum, Göteborg.)
