Many bottles over the years, it was one of the beers which weaned me off lager 20+ years ago. These days only if there really is little to nothing else available. Pours mid brown with a small off-white head. Aroma of caramel, fruit, malt. Medium sweetness and bitterness. Medium to light body, slight watery texture. Not as good now as it was when it was brewed in Newcastle.

Bottle at the Crown Eastbourne. A classic that doesn’t dissapoint. Mix between a tinny lager and a quality brown ale. Overall, very drinkable. Re-rated, bottle from Systembolaget. Dissapointing ,watery, lagery. Down from 3.4 to 3

Can whilst watching football. Yellow gold with a thin soapy head. Little aroma, flavour is minimal. Refreshing I guess

Bottle. Transparent brown. Not much of a head nor aroma. Caramell, malts, Toffee, nuts, a light dose of hops and all around sweet. Makes me think I’m having a lemonade. Watery. Super easy drinking. Nevermind my low rating, this certainly is not the best brown ale out there but nevertheless I really enjoy drinking this.

Can from ASDA, Halifax. Clear paler golden with next to no head. The rum dominates, and it does have a spiciness, but it’s a light one with a mild dry aftertaste. There’s plenty of aroma in this respect

550ml bottle. Pours clear, nutty brown with a fluffy off white head. Malty, slightly metallic aroma, taste is caramel, a little herby, sweet. Very drinkable, if nothing exciting

500ml bottle. Pours dark brown with a thick creamy head that lasts a while. Aroma is strong malty biscuit and the flavour is the same. It’s a little bitter on the way out, and the aftertaste is not too pleasant. Nostalgia makes me want to rate this higher, but to be fair, it was only ever an ok beer.
