330ml bottle from Supermercati DEM, in Civitavecchia, Italy. Pours a crystal clear gold color with a small white head and decent retention. Minimal lacing. Malt liquor-like aroma. The taste follows the nose: Grainy and sweet malt flavor up front with a strong and warming boozy finish. Clean and relatively smooth for 8.7% ABV, but one is enough. The 8.7% ABV is definitely evident. Medium body and medium carbonation. Not bitter.

[as John Smiths Bulldog Strong Lager, ABV 8.7] Il gusto al naso è indirizzato verso il fruttato. La finezza olfattiva è normale e il modo in cui permane è sufficiente. Il manto birroso superiore è caratterizzato da una schiuma che resiste abbastanza. La grandezza delle bollicine è medio-fine. Il liquido è cristallino. Il colore è ramato. Il corpo è pieno. Il dolce è medio in buona armonia con l'amaro medio. La forza gustativa è elevata e si prolunga in modo sufficiente. Le sensazioni boccali finali risultano di birra beverina. Il retrogusto è di decente intensità. L'aroma in bocca porta i segni di la In bocca l'aroma è quello di zucchero caramellato, miele, cracker, biscotto, frutta secca, agrumi, arancia e frutta passita.

Can bought entirely because I fancied the free coaster. Nose is orange ice lolly, orange cordial, sweets. Taste is orange ice pop, leading a light corn and caramel and pale malts. Metallic slightly acidic finish.

Straw-coloured, clear, with a huge white head. Artificial, orange flavour and nothing else. The taste is sweet and sour, refreshing but with a slightly chemical bitterness. Light body, high carbonation, lacking the texture of beer, more like a fruity cider or pop.

Bottle at The White Hart, Eltham. Brown pour with a beige head. Nose is caramel, lots of sweet malts. Taste is caramel, dried fruits, toffee, raisin. Malty sweet aftertaste. Went down rather well (personally) surprisingly.

Die Optik erscheint rötlich kupfer- bis leicht kastanienfarben und klar. Die beigefarbene, feinporige Schaumkrone wirkt beinahe cremig, flaumig und gut haltbar. In der Nase nimmt man brotige bis leicht karamellige Malznoten, sowie leichte reife Fruchtnoten, die an Beeren wie Cassis oder Brombeere, aber auch Herzkirsche erinnern. Der Antrunk kommt frisch, schön rezent, leicht karamellig malzig bis fruchtig/beerig und fruchtig-kräuterig hopfenaromatisch. Im Mund zeigt sich ein relativ schlanker Körper mit feiner bis mäßig grober Rezenz, leicht seidiger Textur und leichter Trockenheit. Auf Zunge und Gaumen zeigt sich eine relativ einfache, brotige bis karamellige Malzbasis mit leicht fruchtigem Einschlag von reifen roten Beeren und einer trockenen, fruchtig-kräuterigen, zart bitteren Hopfenaromatik. So wird ein überschaubares, sicher massentaugliches, aber sehr harmonisches und rundes Profil gezeichnet. Ein Bier, welches man gerne mal trinkt, da es nicht überfordert und einfach bleibt, sich aber doch von Pils, Hellem & Co. abhebt. Im Nachtrunk fällt die Malzcharakeristik langsam ab. Dem folgen die leicht fruchtigen Noten und letztendlich bleibt eine leicht trockene, heuige bis leicht kräuterige und sanft bittere Hopfenaromatik hängen.
