Description
In 2003 the Pask family, long-time residents of Fernie, had a dream of their own to bring the brew back to the small rocky mountain coal mining town. They did just that, setting up a Brewery in their family barn. It was the start of things to come.
In 2007 we relocated to our existing building, designed and built from scratch. With constant growth, Brewhouse expansion, new products and revamped recipes, we’ve travelled through kegs to cans to 650ml bottles and into growlers, currently distributing throughout BC, Alberta, Saskatchewan and into Manitoba. As we continue to grow, we’ll never forget our roots. It’s as simple as Good Beer from a Good Town.

Good foam on cloudy yellow body. Very salty aroma, armpit soaked in rancid lemon juice. Taste is okay tart grain, citrus hints, salt is pronounced and finishes well - something that can't be said for most local goses. Citrusy sweet works well while still holding true to the style, very nice.

Very good foam on a cloudy yellow body. Licorice aroma, maybe soft vanilla and orange zest. Taste is soft licorice and orange zest, unique though a little subdued. Very nice crispness and oiliness. Clean, well crafted, enjoyable.

473mL can, pours a hazy golden with a small white head. Aroma brings out rustic saison yeast, light citrus, and biscuity malt. Flavour expresses the saison yeast nicely, with floral notes, gentle esters, gentle tartness, and a touch of citrus. A little spicy and peppery on the finish. Good stuff.

Can from The Gull, North Vancouver
Blond colour, clean, medium sized head. Nice aroma, piney, zesty, gooseberries. Dry mouthfeel, crackery malts, it has a bold bitterness level; the hop character is mainly herbaceous, could be brighter. Excellent.

473mL can, pours a clear bright golden with a small white head. Nose is full of piney hops, followed by some sticky resins, grapefruit rind, and a hint of sticky caramel. Flavour is quite similar, with lots of piney and resinous hops upfront, with some light citrus further back, and gently sweet caramel malt to back. Has ample bitterness and good clarity. Well-done modern west coast style -- would be great to see many more of these as opposed to the hazies. Very good.

Good foam on a well carbonated medium gold body. Soft piney hops on the nose with hints of cardboard, slight honeydew melon. Flavour is a tart caramel, slight fudge and vague pine hints. Dry enough with oily hints, licorice maybe. Not a bad IPA, some unique elements here.

Bad foam and cloudy yellow body. The smell is like rancid orange peel, there's funkiness and then there's rotting garbage. Flavour is more funky wild yeast with some chewy orangey hops. slight lingering rotting garbage drags it down. There's a fine line between Wild IPA and sewage and this one is teetering a bit too far.

Very nice solid foam on a stormy orangey gold body. Soft tangerine and candied kumquat aroma. Flavour is juicy kumquat, slight pineapple. Full and juicy. Fresh and easy.

Good dark brown body and modest foam. Soft coffee aroma, slight hops, carbonated biscuit. Flavour is chewy barley, cocoa, sadly all too wet showing its macro tendencies. Should be thicker and sharper. Drinkable but forgettable.

Okay foggy yellow body and medium foam. Lots of banana on the nose, slight citrus, chewy grain. Flavour is more banana, soft peppery grain, and a little bit of thin sourness to smooth it over. Full and slightly refreshing. Not bad, quite conservative though.
