Description
Facer's Brewery supplies quality, hand crafted real ales to pubs and other venues across North Wales and North West England.
We are the oldest Brewery in Flintshire

Dave Facer started his own brewery in Salford, Greater Manchester in February 2003, sharing premises and equipment with Bazens' Brewery, which had itself started a few months earlier. In 2005 Dave and wife Annette decided to move home (and hence brewery) to Flintshire. The new Facer's Brewery started production in Flint in February 2006.

Brewing - A life's work !

Dave's first job in a brewery was in 1977 in the Quality Control Lab at Wilson's Brewery in Manchester. He later became a fully fledged Brewer and when Wilson's closed he joined Tetley's Brewery in Leeds followed by stints at Chester's of Salford and Whitbread at Samlesbury before becoming a Brewer at Boddington's in 1991. In 1999 Dave was appointed Head Brewer at Boddington's. He left in February 2003 to start Facer's Brewery.

Handpull cask at the Kings Head, Leicester. Reddish/brownish gold, murky with a small layer of off-white head. Floral aroma, some fruited caramel, a touch of apricot. Lots of sweet malt in the mouth, some strawberry. Maybe a hint if bitterness at the finish but it isn't much. This is a sweet and malty beer. Medium body. Carbonation is zilch. Has that home brew-y imbalance but if truth be told it isn't terrible. Just far from amazing.

Cask at Craft Beer Co St Mary Axe. Surprised.to see that this is a NEIPA. Opaque pale gold. Thin translucent white head soon retreats to the rim. Aroma on theme, though. Sweet and fruity with underlying creamy porridge. Flavourwise this mirrors the aroma, with the addition of a bitter if polite resinous streak. Light. Thin. A tad slick. Soft-fizzy carbonation. Long dry somewhat astringent finish. Overly polite but pleasent twiggy take on a NEIPA.
