4 oz. draft at EBF Boston, MA. 3 February, 2018. I understand the whole “chocolate orange” they were going for here. But the red wine with this? Mouthfeel and body are ok for an imperial stout. The flavor of Orange liquor, chocolate, and red wine kind of clash a bit. Maybe better without the red wine? Not sure.

4 oz. draft at EBF Boston, MA. 3 February, 2018. Aroma of musty wood, honey, dead flowers, and yeast. Flavor is heavy on Botanical and wood. Honey tries to balance but really can’t. Personally for me, any type of Gin barrel or gin soaked wood chips doesn’t work. I really am not a gin person.

Bottle pour into tulip glass from The Beer Store, Nashua. Appearance is almost opaque black--dark mahogany with light source directly behind--with fizzy, ephemeral, finger-width light brown head with no lacing. Aroma is strong, roasted malt and coffee, just shy of burnt. Taste is bittersweet roasted coffee. Palate is light bodied with thin texture, average-to-lively carbonation and dry, crisp finish as taste. Overall, the aroma and flavor are strong but there's nothing here but coffee. Fizzy head and carbonation level seem off for the style and the palate is too thin. Gotta do better than this.
