Draught at the brewpub. Pretty, fine, somewhat rocky head on a siny black beer. Aroma and flavor of licorice, chocolate, dry and woody. Smooth body, relatively high carbonation and hopping. Nicely bitter finish with a wood or charcoal edge. Clean and fresh, though maybe a bit boring.

Draught at the brewpub. Dark copper-amber color with a low head. Big american hop aroma, citrus, grass. Nice balance with caramel-fruits, cherry, big hops. Nicely controlled sweetness with a big bitter hop burn. Very good Czech IPA.

Draught at the brewpub. Nice deep amber color, reddish, tall fine head. Fruity, light caramel aroma. Rich, fruity, clean, tasty. Low sweetness, with bread, a touch of caramel, grapes or plums, and a nice bitter finish. Almost ale-like. Just slighty chewy.

On tap: Deep golden to orangey coloured, medium-sized off-white head, sticking to the glass; moderate to solid piney and fruity (pineapples) nose with some malty spots; solid dryish bitter-sweet flavour, almost medium bodied, a bit fizzy; really lingering hoppy finish, well balanced by a good dash of malt. The Bohemian hop-bomb. Worth a journey.......

On tap at Klásterní Pivovar Strahov on 12th July 2010. Deep red, virtually black with creamy pale brown lasting head lacing fully. Malty biscuit aroma then plenty of burnt caramel and roasted malt, some hints of espresso coffee and a touch of leafy cigar/pipe smoke. Zingy mouthfeel and very bitter aftertaste. I cannot remember this beer tasting so good! (previous tasting September 2004)

On tap at Klásterní Pivovar Strahov on 12th July 2010. Amber as described with thin decaying white head. Fascinating taste spectrum. Plenty of grassy herby hop; very delicate spice notes and some rich malt. Earthy pungency rounds off the flavour pleasantly and there is a hint of Christmas berries in the backtaste, although so slight it doesn’t cloy the beer at all. Dry finish, light texture. This is a very well-crafted beer indeed and worthy of a high mark.

On tap, at KP Strahov brewpub, Prague on 12th July 2010. Half-hazy gold with bubbly white head of foam partly lacing the glass. Fresh and clean tasting without being insipid; sweetness of honey and lemony citrus tang, but the sweetness overrides late on, such that a rather sweet endtaste follows, but fairly lasting in nature. Rather sweeter than many wheatbeers I have tasted but not unpalatably so; rather good, and grows on you.

On tap at the Klásterní Pivovar Strahov brewpub, Prague on 12 July 2010. Copper to gold with yellow white head. Grassy and grapefruit hops (noted that Amarillo and Cascade hops were in use) backed up by a strong malt background that balances it perfectly. A rich hoppy aftertaste follows, delivered on a zingy and engaging mouthfeel. One of the best brew-pub IPAs I have had the pleasure to taste outside the UK and America. Exquisite.

draught at Zly Casy. Clear deep golden colour, bitter-sweet with a solid malty base and lots and lots of delicious citrusy and bitter hops. Slightly sourish and woody in the lingering finish. A delicious IPA. Brilliant!

Herb-malziger Antrunk mit viel CO2. Wenig hefig. Herb bleibend, das am Anfang wenig intensive Hopfenaroma nimmt etwas zu. Milder Ausklang. Insgesamt unspektakulär. 12/8/9/8//8
