On tap at the brewery: Hazy, copper coloured, firm, lacing off-white to beige head; fruity and yeasty aroma with distinctive traces of floral hops; stronger bitter, dry flavour, soft mouthfeel instead; lingering, floral hoppy finish with a tinge of yeast. Good stuff for hoppy people...................

Rating added 1/29/2006The light micro (pub) brew from tap at the brewery / restaurant in Prague. Very nice and well worth the long tram ride to get to the place.7/4/7/4/15=3.7

Draught at the brewpub in May 2006.According to the girl in the bar this beer had 6.0% ABV.Shady brown color, big beautiful beige creamy lasting head. Served in the small round glasses it’s a feast for your eyes! Acid and burnt scent. Exceptional taste! Big mouthfeel, good bitterness, a bit burnt and acid, mixed with malts, flavor. Very high co2 level makes it a bit spritzy.8/4/9/4/19=4.4From May 2005:Nice darker brew from the monestary brew pub. Actually nothing to do with the monestary part from housing in it’s old buildings, but still a nice area and a really nice beer.Ar: 7 Ap: 4 Fl: 8 Pa: 3 Ov: 15RerateDraught at the brewpub on June 5, 2011Black color, tan lasting head. Tapped, in the brew-pub: almost black, huge dark brownish head, sweet malty nose (caramel), initial dry malty taste, leading to a lasting bitter - chocolate- finish, medium bodied, well quaffable............

Draught at the brewpub/restaurant at the monastery. Dark brown, nearly black colour. Thick creamy head. Aroma of roasted malts, some leather, hints of treacle. Solid flavour of roasted malts and coffee, notes of dark bitter chocolate. Reminds me of a Baltic porter. Dry bitter aftertaste from the roastiness and hops. A very good beer - good enough to make me go back the next day for more! By the way - the brewery restaurant serves decent food too.

Draught. I had this Easter special together with dortmunder at the brewery restaurant at the beautiful Strahovsky Klaster (monastery) in Prague. Beer was served too cold, but improves as it warms up. Cloudy golden to amber colour, large creamy head. Slightly yeasty aroma, some malts, hops and caramel too. Decent flavour, nice hoppy bitter finish.

A rich Belgian dark ale that has toffee and sweet chocolatey sugar notes, but I found it a bit cloying and a bit too sweet, however, it certainly was a relief from ubiquitous pale Czech lagers. Opps my mistake, this was a lager, but it tasted, as noted below, like a Belgian ale.
