On draught, at the brewpub: Deep golden to orangey coloured, medium-sized stable and lacing white head, cloudy, traces of wort and peaches in the strong, aromatic - Saaz hops - resinous nose, strong bitter-sweet flavour, light to medium bodied, gentle MF, fine Saaz hops, sticking to the tongue, in the dry, lingering bitter finish. A very well made, beautiful hoppy brew............ P.S. This beer is different from the 14º Easter Special, because of the lower gravity and the lower ABV.........

Draught at the monastery/brewery; Sv. Norbert Tmavý 14°
Dark brown to black color; nice creamy head. Very nice aroma, delicate, roasted malt. Soft mouthfeel, caramel first, some malt, roasted malt, very harmonious. Ends with some hops, roasted malt, caramel. Probably the best Dunkel I ever tried, for its harmony and elegance.

Hazy copper color. Excellent hop aroma, pure Saaz, with some vanilla. There is some malt in the taste, medium structure, and an excellent hoping, aromatic, bearing a caramel touch, the best in Prague. A wonderful, refreshing, nutty, Saaz, complex Pilsner.
Even Florence likes this one!

First ratingDraught at the brewpub in May 2006. Very shady amber color with a big white creamy lasting head. Fresh hoppy "home made" scent. Refreshing citrus hoppy flavor. Good bitterness. Thirst clenching and good for you! This beer alons is worth the trip to Prague.According to the girl in the bar this beer (13°) was at 5.5% ABV.I’m very surprised to see that the beer has such a low average rating...8/4/9/4/19=4.4RerateDraught at the brewpub on June 5, 2011As "Amber 13 degrees, 5.3% ABV"Hazy brown color, off-white head. I think this was labelled as a 12, but it was also the amber. It is one of the several pleasant Viennas I found in the Czech Republic; a style I previously detested. This beer looks like a dark hefeweizen. It is orange and cloudy. Think head. Some sourness in the flavor, and very drinkable. --- Beer aliased from original tick of Special Amber Beer on 12 Aug 2018 at 18:31 - Score: 7. Original review text: Purchased as "Svatý Norbert Jantar 13°" 3/26/2006. Orange and hazy, full malt flavor.

One of the best dunkels I found in Prague. Black with a huge, thick head. Malt aroma, but there is also smoke and meat. The flavor has more malt and some smoked meat. Lightly bitter finish and highly carbonated. Excellent.

Big offwhite head over dark red body that looks opaque black. Dry, roasty, faint aroma. Dry, roasty, burnt taste with lingering sweet burntness as well as some acidity. Not as complex or as drinkable as the amber.

Big, offwhite creamy head ovver hazy amber body. Looks absolutely delicious. Light, sweetish caramelly aroma. Deep, resiny, pineish taste with a dry spicy aftertaste. Some acidity. Lovely! A great beer.
