Description
Through more than 200 years of making real premium craft cider, six generations of the Sheppy family have weathered the ups and downs of combining farming with cider-making by embracing change and opportunity.

Today David Sheppy the incumbent Master of Cider, applies his unrivalled knowledge and expertise from a lifetime of cider making to turn our home-grown apples into some of the finest and award winning ciders.

Fifteen of our 90 acres of orchards we planted with tradition standard apple trees. Eight acres of these are certified organic. The remaining 75 acres contain bush trees planted at between 200 and 300 trees per acre, so about 19,000 trees in total at Sheppy's.

Bottle picked up from Meny Valby and drunk at home 21/07/2024 Nice mix and balance of sweet and lightly dry apple notes, light sulphate accent, crisp with a light body and acidity, no artificial like taste would expect from a AF cider, tasty and refreshing on such a hot day.

Bottle. A clear one, golden in color, with some white bubbles on top. The aroma has lots of apple juice, with some apple jam and apple cores. It's a bit thin on the palate, far from watery though, with a gentle acidity. A bit sweet I think. Apple juice, some apple jam, grass, lemon and a faint hint of pineapple in the flavor. Rather short finish. Sure a decent alcohol free apple drink. 240807

Bottle. Slight hazy light golden. Crisp apple juice, light barnyard notes, sweet pear, hay, soft leather tannins, lemon zest. Medium sweet, light sour. Over light bodied. Quite juicy indeed, but very obviously cider and not juice. I quite like this!

500ml bottle from Tesco, Newton Aycliffe. Clear golden colour, short-lived white foam head that quickly dissipates to a thin rim and aroma of apple, barnyard funk, caramel. Taste is sweetish, apple, fruity, caramel hint, with some wood, farmhouse funk and drying tannins. Medium bodied, light carbonation, dry tannic finish. Nicely drinkable.
