Description
It was in 1943 that the history of the Fournier family and of cider began. On the southern borders of Normandy, in the land of the Dukes of Alençon, the reliefs offer landscapes of solid hills interspersed with green valleys. Apple and pear trees bloom on the hillsides stretched out in the sun.
It is in this environment that Cidres Fournier cultivates their orchards of tall apple trees. The selected fruit varieties favor quality over yield. This is the spirit that drives Fournier Ciders in its development and the qualitative control of its growth: love of the land, orchards, fruit and a well-made product.
In 1996 company registration. Rocation of the premises of the distillery activity of M.Fernand in Saint Pierre des Nids for reasons of exploitation rights by the SARL Fournier Frères. chaired by Messrs Jean-Pierre and Fernand Fournier. The successful association of two brothers with complementary skills, especially after several years of training in the cider industry, creation and development of the range of cider products in bottles
In 2013 extension of orchards, +10 hectares planted. Creation of the Fournier brand.

75cl bottle shared with Soph. Clear gold appearance, good effervescence. Lovely fruity farmhouse orchard nose. Taste is lusciously fruity, with soft tannin.. quite dry for a Brut but presented well, with additional floral orchard notes. Very enjoyable.

750ml wired cork bottle from Carrington Wines. Opened with a pop. Orange golden colour, bubbly white foam head and aroma of apple, caramel, some funk. Taste is sweet, apple, fruity, tangy, with funky notes and bittersweet tannins. Medium bodied, foamy carbonation, drying tannic finish. Nicely drinkable.

Bottle from the House of Trembling Madness. Clear burnished gold with a middling white head. A hint of dryness up front, before sweet baked pear and vanilla and a little apple skin come through. There's a hint of sharpness in the caramel finish. The caramel and vanilla give quite a full mouthfeel despite the fizz. It's decent, if a little too sweet by the end.

Appelsap, hout, camamebert, geit, schaap, paard, koe, hooi, ouwe appels, zoete appels, zure appels, bittere appels. Redelijk zoet met een fris droog randje. Normale bubbels, geen aggresieve kurksplosie. Supermarkt spul.
