Description
It was in 1943 that the history of the Fournier family and of cider began. On the southern borders of Normandy, in the land of the Dukes of Alençon, the reliefs offer landscapes of solid hills interspersed with green valleys. Apple and pear trees bloom on the hillsides stretched out in the sun.

It is in this environment that Cidres Fournier cultivates their orchards of tall apple trees. The selected fruit varieties favor quality over yield. This is the spirit that drives Fournier Ciders in its development and the qualitative control of its growth: love of the land, orchards, fruit and a well-made product.

In 1996 company registration. Rocation of the premises of the distillery activity of M.Fernand in Saint Pierre des Nids for reasons of exploitation rights by the SARL Fournier Frères. chaired by Messrs Jean-Pierre and Fernand Fournier. The successful association of two brothers with complementary skills, especially after several years of training in the cider industry, creation and development of the range of cider products in bottles

In 2013 extension of orchards, +10 hectares planted. Creation of the Fournier brand.

Bottle from Super U shared at Airbnb location in Swiss Normandy. Pours bright yellow golden with active lacing and some transparent bubbles on top. Sweet yellow apples, moss, wood, tannins, almond, marmalade. Moderate sweet, light bitter and mild tartness. Light body and lots of fizzy carbonation.it may be Doux in the abv department but the mouthfeel and finish is pretty dry.

375ml bottle @ Big Hand Alehouse, Chester. Pours a lightly misty gold, aroma presents fresh fruity poire notes. Taste is oily, with fresh poire fruit, a little gummy, moderately sweet with nice clarity of flavour. Light spritz. Decent poire from a great producer. Just odd to see this label design clearly for the US market, compared to their boring French designs.

Bolle, from a bottle. Medium hazy gold, flat, a few bubbles. Honey, pear, light caramel in the nose. Sweet pear juice, some sulphur and a touch of funk. Rather tart finish, light tannins. Fascinating and lovely.
