O Brother Brewing is a family owned brewery from Kilcoole, County Wicklow. Back in 2011, three Brothers - Barry, Brian and Padhraig O’Neill - got put their minds together to create this independent brewery. Cask at praf 2017. Pours black, nose is chocolate, caramel, smoky toffee, taste is chewy caramel, liquorice, smoky, toffee.

O Brother Bonita 7.1% India Dark Ale [120117] ...forgot about this one... Black, frothy tan head dissipates Nose - Soft dark malts, very soft citrus, hint of caramel toffee Taste - Roasted malts, dark caramel, bitter grassy hops, hint of scorched toffee malt, quite bitter roast (6.5) Palate - Soft carb, medium body, rich mouthfeel, bitter palate, alcohol fairly noticeable Finish is a bit dry, more bitter roast and bitter zest hops 3 Overall - Full on bitter roasty BIPA, bitter hops but not much fruit, it’s a bit over aggressive with the roast

500 mml bottle as part of the European Local Swap, many thanks to Beersiveknown for this one. Tasted on the 14/02/2017. Pale yellow colour with a medium white fizzy head. Aroma of tropical fruits and floral hops. Taste is fruity and medium hoppy with a dry and smooth aftertaste. Next one please!

Draught at Bar Ryan. Amber with a thin head. Aroma of crushed orange hop. Flavour is sticky fruit, strong rye kick. Chalky bitter fruit base, sticky rye finish.

Bottle from O’Breins Athlone. Murky brown with a frothy head. Aroma of wheat and spice. Flavour is spicy hop, citrus, spiced wheat, caramel on a peppery finish.

Bottle. Hazy yellow with a solid head. Aroma of spicy wheat. Flavour of caramel spice, wheat, lime citrus. A little hint of solvent.

Bottle from McHughs. Light gold with a medium head. Aroma of light fruity hop. Flavour is chalky bitter hop, light, long lingering bitter base, dry finish.

Murky amber, bubbly white head
Aroma of citrus fruits, grapefruit, mango, soft peppery notes, hint of melon, grape, quite complex
Taste of spicy hops, citrus zest, bitter grape, fairly sweet malt background, light caramel
Palate - Soft carb, medium body, very smooth, fairly bitter and spicy. Finish - peppery, spicy, fruity malts, bitter tail
Overall - Interesting rather complex beer - nice flavour.

Cask. Clear golden with big white head. Aroma is malt, caramel, hop and grass. Flavour is malt, little toasted, caramel, hop, grass, medium sweet and a little bitter.
