Bottle. Clear gold with a large white head that settles to a loose inch. Funky aroma of damp hay, apricots, feral pasture, old lemons. Quite fizzy. Fairly light bodied - perhaps a little much so. Some sweetness: there’s ripe and tired fruit - apricots, quinces, pears - damp hay. Finish is pretty dry and moderately bitter with l old lemons, flowers, bretty bracken and spices. Very engaging, but doesn’t quite live up to the aroma.

Bottle, 8C. Clear pale gold with a white head. Floral aroma with peachy funk, hay, gentle earthy spices, just slightly toasty. Sweet peach, damp hay, sunny flowers, earthy spices. Dryish finish. Bitterness seems pretty low at first but grips a little more after a time. Floral and gentle spice notes linger. The most "joined up" of their beers so far.

These workers must be pretty well paid. Bottle. Pale gold with a white head that settles to a cm in short order. Aroma of fruity Brett (not funky at all) - nectarines, lemon pudding, citrus blossoms, crackers, hard spices. 7-8 Very dry with crackery dough, ghosts of stone fruit, hay. Quite bitter and very dry indeed at the end leaving mild spices and citrus blossoms. Started at the top of recommended temperature range of 4-6C and it seemed a bit austere (and a bit fizzy). Around 9C a little more fruit - some apricot as well as white nectarines - came out and the whole thing was more welcome as well as quenching.

Hazy tan. The aroma is earthy, with dusty yeast character. Sweeter pale malts, light yeast, touch of herbal hop. Some alcohol in the finish.

Rerate. Cloudy, Thick head. Has a fair bit of yeastiness, and earthy hops, but maybe also a little bit of phenols. Light body, then some yeastiness. Moderately dry, herbal hopping. This isn't bad - better than the prior sampling a couple of years ago.

Old rate: 2016. Slightly hazy and a bit tan. Not much head. The aroma is a bit funky, touch of brett. Bit tart, but again some dirty funk. Just not clean enough. Their stuff is usually better. 5-3-5-2-10 = 2.5

Tasting at Matt’s, batch LS230053, bb Sept 2016
Hazy golden color. Nice delicate aroma, like the regular Saison some pungent honey, but less spices, and more floral. It’s too much carbonated, a detriment to the flavor; spicy yeast, a bit sweeter than the Saison, and with a bit more vegetables.
A lot of character, a bit chaotic, but nice.

375mL bottle, pours a hazy golden with a small white head. Aroma brings out sweet cereal malts, rustic farmhouse notes, and residual sweetness. Flavour is much more abrasive and messy than the regular Saison, with phenolic alcohol notes, cereal sweetness and rustic farmhouse. Filthy and all over the place, but still quite pleasant. Much preferred the regular Saison.
