Description
Founded in 2018, by Jasper Tupman and Stuart Winstone, who share a passion for foraging, fermentation and flavour. These two invested everything they had, to build their unique vision of carefully crafted beers with a strong sense of place.
Later joined by Dave Williams as Head Brewer and Lee Calnan as Sales Director, 2020 marked the next phase of development for a small team with big ambitions; to bring innovative, modern farmhouse brewing to a wider audience in the UK and beyond.
By brewing with the very best of local ingredients and alternative techniques that span between historic styles and modern brewing technology, our approach to mixed fermentation and barrel ageing puts the emphasis on balance of flavour and drinkability. Minimal intervention is the key to ensuring that there’s a little bit of nature in every sip.

440ml can. Pours black with a beige head. Aroma of chocolate, fudge... cake, yeah it's pretty on the nose, something mildly fruity too. Taste has loads of fudge, loads of milk chocolate, sponge cake, it's aptly named and very sweet as expected, noticeable lactose. Medium bodied, smooth. nice one, even if it is a tad artificial tasting - and I spy no adjuncts (other than lactose) in the ingredients implying it's all flavourings anyway, but I suppose they've done a good job if that's the case.

Keg at Brewdog Cowgate Edinburgh. Pours hazy yellow gold with a thin white head. Aromas of strong lemon and biscuit. Never mind the beer, taste the flavorings! Sickly sweet finish.

Keg at Brewdog Doghouse Edinburgh. Pours hazy red with a thin pink-tinged head. Aromas of fruit and lactose, maple syrup. Taste is berries and maple syrup. Too sweet and just tastes of what's been added.

CBJ tasting, Keg. Near clear green beer, small pale green colour head. Light palate, semi dry, good fine minerally carbonation. Thin malts, fairly sweet. A fairly exotic fruity sweetness, tastes like a sour sweet lolly. Good sweet and sour tension.
