(Bottle 50 cl) 11% version. Pours a dark amber with a reddish hue and a slight haze. Delicate, creamy, beige coloured head settling cappuchinoish on top. Very intense and lightly perfumy nose full of aroma hops. Full-bodied all right, but not really when you take the 11% ABV into consideration. Notes of caramel and an underlying sweetness. But the bitterness builds up on my palate to become quite massive and overwhelming. And for a malthead like me the last 10 cl were tough. Heavy yeast sediment at the bottom. But this really is a monster of a Barley Wine - American style - and a great beer by all standards. 180206

(Bottle 50 cl) Unclear amber golden with a thick, creamy yellowish head with good retention. Dry nose with hoppy aromas. Incredibly crisp and dry body completely dominated by notes of grapefruit and a quinine-like bitterness. Some vague earthy and rustic notes. Markedly hoppy finish. Not the most refined IPA from Mikkeller. 170206

[I’m trying to make it a tradition to celebrate my centuries etc. with a Mikkeller brew - did it at 5500 and 5555 - and this one is number 5600, so You boys better start brewing new beers, because I’m aiming high ;-) ] A hazy dark red beer with a nice lazing light brown head. The aroma is very hoppy and grassy, combined with light notes of malt and alcohol. The flavor is sweet at first, with some notes of malt and caramel, but it is soon overpowerd by the bitterness from the hops, with its different notes of grass and citrus. The alcohol gives the tongue a slight bite on the edges. I really like this one. Amarillo, Amarillo, rock me, Amarillo!!!

(Bottle 50 cl) Very unclear dark amber with a dense, creamy, off-white head. Fresh, aromatic hop aroma. Medium body with some notes of caramel, but otherwise mainly dominated by some lightly citrusy hoppy notes with a bitterness that’s slowly building up to be quite massive on the back of my tongue. But not really the most refined or sophisticated of the Mikkeller IPAs. 310106

[A small in-between celebration for a number freak - this is my rating number 5555 - so I celebrate it with another great brew from Mikkeller] A very red beer with a huge brown head. The aroma is sweet with strong notes of grapefruit, and some grass, but also a slight dusty note. The flavor is sweet with some notes of caramel, which is very soon overpowered by the hops, which from the start is very bitter with sharp notes of grapefruit with all the acidity of the grapefruit.

(Bottle 50 cl) Opaque, dark brown with a very handsome, beige cappuchinoish head. Very spicy nose with cardamom in particular blending in with floral notes from the aroma hops. The body is quite full with lots of roasted malts and bucketfulls of Christmas spices battling with a markedly bitter hoppiness for attention. A "Jägermeister beer" as Ivan suggests is quite a good comparison. 280106

A quite carbonated beer which leaves a lot of bubbles on the side of the glass, but also a huge light brown long lasting head. The body of the beer is a slightly hazy red. The aroma is hoppy (no wonder) with notes of citrus combined with some flowery notes. The flavor is sweet and very hoppy with notes of grass, grapefruit, and citrus, leading to a very bitter grapefruity end. The body in the middle is slightly thin, but the aftertaste is fantastic.
