10/11/11/11/10/11

Bottle at GBBF 2006. Thanks to Ungstrup for this one. Cloudy dark brown, beige head. Smokey bacon aroma, beautifully balanced. Lovely, but still a bit thin on malts. Bit too carbonated.

Bottle at GBBF 2006. Thanks Ungstrup. Hazy amber colour with lasting cream head. Aroma is fantastic. American hops are lovely, grassy grapefruit. Don’t think that I would never tire of this. Heaven in the mouth, sherberty, sweet hops on finish. Stunning. Maybe just errs a little on being too sherberty

Sampled during RBSG 2006. I got to rate this side by side with the Great Lakes Bourbon Barrel Stout and this was my favorite. Thanks to Ungstrup for bringing another winner! Pours black with a light tan head that hangs forever. Rich aroma of coffee, dark chocolate, and roasted malts. Well balanced flavor that combines the aromas with a nice dry finish from the roast malts.

Sampled during RBSG 2006. Very dark for an IPA, this pours a hazy light brown. Earthy hop aroma. Dry overall, with subtle bitterness. Full body.

[Another century celebrated with a Mikkeller beer - this time 6400] A deep red beer with a huge brown head. The aroma is nicely smoked with notes of bacon, tar, and rope. The flavor is sweet with a nice malt back ground which dominates the start together with some caramel notes, then the smoke gains in power combined with notes of wood and rope, which in turn gives way to a quite dry end, where the ligth smoky note lingers together with a faint caramel note. Not the most powerful smoked beer, but enough to make it really nice.
