Description
Foam. It's always been an unconscious calling like drifting into a cumulus cloud bank on a sun-drenched day, or collapsing in a frothy curl of a breaking wave. Foam; it's natural beauty that rises up and is here and gone in a moment in time. I have spent my working life in foam, beer foam that is, brewing beer, conjuring up mixtures of malt and hops to ferment into a crowning moment of beer. Great beer has always sat under foam. Foam. It's not one ingredient that gives stability; it's many interwoven to create a structure of strength pouring out visual excitement. As I sit for a time, I enjoy that moment. All that remains is the lacing that adorns the empty glass and the making of a great memory. Until next time, see you under the Foam...

16 oz can. Aroma of orange rind, tangerines, apricots. Flavor is the same with maybe the addition of melon. Pretty sturdy amount of malt in the background. Finish does show a little bit of booze. Not massively, distracting, but there. Overall, it’s still packed with a lot of fruit flavor.

Can (1/14/25) from Liquor Junction, Reading. Deeply hazy yellow with tons of sparkle, thin head with excellent retention, light lacing. Aroma is lemon, pineapple, late tangerine. Taste is pineapple, mango, tangerine. Smooth, frothy, quite thin texture, soft carbonation and crisp finish. Decent enough but not super strong flavor/aroma and a bit flimsy in the body. No alcohol, though.

Winding down the RBS night with Kings/Leafs on HNIC and the double from Foam.

Juicy, tropical, pineapple. Decent.

16 oz can in a trade with tfontana. Aroma is mango, orange and light herb. Flavor is balanced. Soft bread like malt with a nice array of fruit. Hints of melon, mango, citrus. Soft texture. I really enjoyed this.

Brewer's Tap draught, 3/19/25.
Moderately-to-heavily hazy, brass-golden. Medium-sized, white head, decent retention.
Sweet mandarin, pineapple and rich honeydew with big burst of honey from the malt. Some mango and unripe white peach on the end, with lower acidity. Pretty good aroma strength and quite clean. Well-backed by malt.
Very juicy, fruity, lightly spicy with strong melon. Hint of kumquat and maybe a touch of alcohol. Sweet white bread-like malts. Lingering pineapple, orange rind and melon. Just a bit all over the place for me. Sweet malts, sweet melon, bitter rind, alcohol, pineapple and nothing too cohesive. Messy, I guess, with alcohol lingering strangely.

Can (10/9/24) from Liquor Junction, Reading. Opaque dark brown, nice sparkle, thin head quickly fading and no lacing. Aroma is strong earthy roasted malt, wood, mild chili. Taste is strong sweet, roasted malt, weaker vanilla and late lactose and bit of chili taste/heat with background cinnamon. Smooth texture, surprisingly thin body, soft carbonation and pleasant chili heat and finish as taste. OK but not great. Not even a great Mexican stout. Meh.
