Minimal head and very dark brown-black body, no carbonation showing. Sugary sweet aroma with molasses hints, licorice as well. Flavour is sharp and heavy licorice with dark chocolate notes, barley. Dry finish. Not a looker but a big reliable drink for sure.

Big bottle from somewhere in Montréal. Has a nice big heaving head, not too heavy though so doesn’t overflow even when poured aggressively. Muddy brown body, carbonation, heavy stuff. Strong pungent yeast aroma with vague hints of caramel and molasses. Damn, I wish more people listened to Ryoji Ikeda on a regular basis. Flavour is heavy malt, caramel, rye bread (the cheap stuff you find at the major supermarket chains, not the real stuff), sugary caramel and of course that yeast just poking through. Crisp on the backend. A nice wild ride of a beer, heavy and messy stuff that works well for the large format bottle. Time to watch a movie whilst quaffing this stuff, it’s one of those big beers you can get behind on a saturday night.

Solid foam, stormy carbonation, golden body, purty beer she says. Aroma is heavy hops with little swampwater cabbage hints here and there. Flavour is apricot, orange zest and Irish poteen alcoholism. Medium finish, a bit oily but not too much. Solid boozer beer here, I shoulda bought a few more for a nice smashed saturday night.
