About
In 1998, La Brasserie An Alarc’h (swan in Breton) moved to the Monts d'Arrée, in Huelgoat. At the end of the first 7 years, the brewery found itself in difficulty and its founder decided to sell An Alarc’h to SCOP Tri Martolod, which was in charge of straightening and developing it. In 2015, the brewery moved to La Feuillée and Rod, a new partner comes to support the growth of the brewery.

Almost clear gold beer, thin pale cream colour head. Palate is light and fairly dry. Decent fine carbonation. Floral fruity ginger, pleasant and not bringing very much heat or spice. Light finish. Simple and quaffable.

Hazy peachy pink - amber beer, small pink head. Palate is light, fairly dry and decent fine carbonation. Sweetish candy fruits, some raspberry. A bitterish seltzer sits uncomfortably alongside. Light but bitter esters before a dry finish. Odd.

Pitch black, tall creamy tan head, half-way lasting, heavy lacing. Aroma roasted malts, cocoa, light liquorice, hint of smoke. Taste light to medium sweet and bitter, malty, chocolate, light spicy notes, average duration. Light bittersweet finish, chocolate notes, medium body, watery texture, bit thin mouthfeel, soft carbonation. All in all a bit thin which is a pity but still pretty decent.

Spicy, roasty, dark malty aroma, sweetish hints of liquorice, a herbal and spicy touch of lovage, Maggi.
