6/10
A deep dark stout with a thin mocha head. In aroma, sweet chocolate malt with light spices, cinnamon, pleasant. In mouth, sweet chocolate malt with dark fruits, light coffee, light chai tea, OK.

Last one to rate from their Vol. Ten mix 4-pack. Lightly hazed golden-amber colour with some particles flowing around, of different sizes with a smaller white cap from the others, leaving a little ring around the brew. Lemon aromas with the sourness and all. The taste has this, but a little toned down with very mild saltiness blending in, and the rest of the juicy fruitiness. Not getting much of the pineapples, but might be that light fruitiness balancing things, just not sweet like usual. Not a bad Gose.

Another one from their Vol. Ten Mix 4-pack. Pours a lightly hazed golden-amber colour with a big frothy, kind of creamy slightly warm head, very long lasting, leaving some thin creamy lace. The Kveik yeast shows close to a chemical aromas with bite, but not quite. Nicely balanced with hints of fruitiness. The mouthfeel is dry, but something else seems to give a bigger bite, maybe in the bitterness instead for mouthfeel, which leaves a nice punch, but still somewhat juicy and refreshing. Lots of citrus zest. A nice punchy stronger IPA.

Part of their Vol. Ten Mix 4-pack. Slightly hazy, bright light-yellow colour with a big frothy white cap, also bubbly with long retention and leaving foamy-soapy lacing. Citrus aromas of lemons and oranges, with their zest and juices. Hint of oats and yeast blending things well. Getting a little hazier as it pours. The mouthfeel mildly on the thin side, but the dryness in the finish compensates for it. Flavours of lemon peel and the right kind of yeast. One would never know this is a light beer.

Last can from their Rising Tide Collaboration mix pack, called Come and Float. Clean, slightly unfiltered, peach-amber colour with a fizzy off-white bubbly head, good retention and foamy thick lacing streaks. The carbonation is quite active with tiny bubbles. Mostly blueberries coming out in the nose over the pear softness. Gets really dirty and cloudy at last pour. Fruity taste with some nice dry finish. Light sourness which works well with the fruits, again with the blueberry notes stronger. An easy-drinking fruity dry-hopped sour.

Third can of the night (called Lifts All Boats) from the Welly Rising Tide Collaboration Mix Pack. Pours a cleaner golden-amber colour with a big frothy off-white cap, good stay and some dirty lacing patches. Mild malt base giving a little sweetness with the light coffee bitterness with hops. Fruity tasting malt with hints of coffee. Not a bad beer, but not my favourite of the pack.

Second can of the night (called Join Together) from the Welly Rising Tide Collaboration Mix Pack. Pours a bright, lightly hazy golden-yellow colour with an off-white head, creamy, long lasting with some bold creamy lacing. Grassy nose with citrus notes and the Kveik yeast touch. The flavours have mostly grassiness from the hops giving some good dry end. Orange juice and lemon zest. Easily drinkable Kveik IPA.

First can of the night (called A Rising Tide) from the Welly Rising Tide Collaboration Mix Pack. Soapy nose with herbal notes (reminds me of Thrills gum). Hazy, golden, amber hue with a big creamy warm off-white head, very good retention and some nice creamy lacing. The malt in the taste is fruity and the hops gives out the orange juice feel. Dryish finish, but not overly. Well-blended with the juiciness and herbal, pine hints. A nice West Coast APA.

Lightly hazy peach-amber colour with a golden highlight. Off-white frothy-bubbly head, good retention and leaving some foamy spots of lacing. Big Chai spices with the cloves, cardamon and cinnamon being up front. Hints of berries do come out with time. Also showing some unfiltered particles, but all small and transparent. The spices and blackberries are well-blended in the taste with some bitterness that kicks a little in the finish, and light tannins linger. Lots going on here, but really easy to enjoy.

This IPA poured a cloudy, light amber colour with a creamy, off white head. Nice lacing. Scents include a little grass, pineapple and citrus. First swig was quite sour. Flavours of grapefruit, pineapple, honey and straw. Finish is acidic. Doubt I’d have another.
