(bottle, with special thanks to pivnizub) Clear, dark amber colour with a fluffy stable beige foamy head. Sweet and slightly nutty malty aroma, roasty with caramel, dark chocolate and a shy hoppy note. Sweet flavour, medium to full body, smooth carbonation. Strong malty taste with roasted notes and alcohol; sweet, later slightly bitter roast-malty and a bit sticky finish with notes of dark chocolate. Drinkable but not perfectly balanced.

Draught at BBF06. Refreshing Helles aroma. Good flavour. Not very different from many other German brewpub Helles, but more flavourful. 6 3 7 4 17 Bottle, 4.9%. Weak, but refreshing aroma. Hazy, very pale yellow colour. Small white head. The flavour is mild with a hint of yeast and malt. OK bitterness in finish. Very clean and quite good. 6 3 6 3 15

(bottle, with many thanks to EithCubes) Clear, dark mahogany colour with a proper beige foamy head, which is quite persistent and slowly lacing. Sweet, slightly roasted malty aroma with caramel and shades of hops. Bittersweet flavour, moderate roasted malt character with caramel and also toffee notes. Moderately dry, roast-malty bitter and slightly hoppy finish. Not very complex, but a clean and pure goodie.

(Bottle 50 cl) Pilsener golden with a deliciously tall, handsome and creamy head. Soft, very malty with only a discreet hint of bitterness. Resembles a "Helles" more. 100802

(Bottle 50 cl) Deep reddish brown with a thick, creamy and rather stable head. Smoky, burned almost ashy malt flavours with a solid dose of bittering hops. Only a wee sweetness is hiding underneath. Not my kind of Schwarzes. 280402
