Description
The idea of having our own brewery has been in our heads since we launched our first beer, The Black Pot, but we really started thinking about it in the beginning of 2018.
Living in a small town near the Ceahlau mountain means fresh air, great views, many things to do (especially in summer) but there is not much social life. So, this was our first question: build a brewery in the area through which we make the decision to stay here or move to a big city where you have many more opportunities, give up on this idea / dream and continue life? You already know the answer… 😊

330ml bottle. Jet black colour with slightly late awakening, small to average, thick, creamy, moderately lasting and lacing, tan head. Sweet-ish, chocolately, dark malty and biscuity, spicy aroma, notes of marzipan, cinnamon, vanilla, chocolate brownies, milk chocolate. Taste is sweet-ish, chocolately, dark malty, biscuity and slightly spicy, notes of dark chocolate, milk chocolate, hints of vanilla, cinnamon, chocolate brownies, some marzipan; lingering, marzipan finish. Viscous texture, smooth and soft, minimally cloying palate, soft to flat carbonation. Nice composition, well balanced, not too sweet, neither too artificial nor adjunct dominated - good.

Bottle at home in Hackney - picked up from Cambridge Wines. Lightly sweet with some lemony tartness, a little salt, flinty accents, low acidity, nips of butyric acid. Light bodied with active, massaging carbonation. Lightly sweet finish, more mild acidity, lemon, melon. Pretty basic stuff.

Bottle sourced from Beerdome and drunk at home - pours a hazed golden orange colour with a white head. Medium sweet fruity with notes of nectarine and mango, peachy accents, citrus touch of lime and lemon washing over, sweet malty backbone, medium body, piney bitter drying hoppy finish. Kind of west meets east coast overall, alright.
