(Bottle 50 cl) Pours a hazy honey golden with a creamy, off-white head with good retention. Fresh, floral, hoppy nose. Soft and smooth - almost velvety - mouthfeel. Light-bodied with some malty sweetness perfectly balanced by a dry, aromatic bitterness that leaves a whole bunch of flowers on my palate. Lovely. 120306

Draught at The Malthouse, Wellington. Clear pale brown. Light aroma of roasty malt. Very light bodied. The crisp bready malt profile nearly allows water to shine through. The hop rate is low, and so is the bitterness. Serving this beer with CO2 pressure probably doesn’t help it a lot. A cask serving could have lifted the delicate malt character above the fizz.

A hazy deep red beer with a thin beige head. The aroma is sweet with notes of whiskey and malt. The flavor is a somewhat weird combination of whiskey and malty as well as light roasted notes and hints of smoke. I find it unbalanced.

Bottle. HUGE thanks to Duff for bringing this to me, wouldn’t have dreamed of getting the chance to try this any time soon. Best before MAY 07 0834, is what it says, clearly on the label. Served in my duvel tulip on 11/10/05. Jaw-droppingly intense aroma. Surprised it comes from such an unassuming bottle. Fresh, juicy fruits with a smattering of juniper and other aromatic, fresh, green herbs. Ever so light citrus, just faint sweet tangerines and ruby-red grapefruits. Soft, sugary, light base malts sit on the edge of the tongue, supportive, but not bullying in the least. Deep, hazy-golden-amber appearance. Fine bubbles rising to create an off-white head that is retained at cover with spotty lacing. Plenty of sediment in bottle. Flavor begins with a light malt sweetness (honey, touch of caramel), a dry yeast note and almost a wheaty/oaty/barleyish grainy sort of flavor that I can’t place. Grainy, mildly sour (maybe munich malt) flavor sticks and some hop bitterness mixes with it. Hop bitterness clings to the palate, as does the malt sugar. As it warms, the mouthfeel stays perfectly tight and the texture does not turn watery. Spicy dill and grapefruit on the end. An APA to savor and sip. Exquisitely intricate expansive carbonation. No alcohol apparency. Fresh on draught this could prove to be positively stupefying.

(Bottle 50 cl) Hazy amber with a small, but collapsing, beige head. Heavy carbonation. Hoppy nose. Rather light body with a touch of caramel malt. Quite dry and dominated by the aroma hops also leaving some bitterness. Very accessible IPA, but not overly thrilling. 121105

Muddy amber color; greenish hue; thin creamy head. Wonderful hoppy aroma, fruity (lytchee…), vanilla. Pretty thin body, but with an excellent hopping and light sweetness, also fruity. Very good!

Bottled. Cloudy amber, average head. Loads of aromatic, peachy, citric hops up front. Sweet and solidly malty, dominated by peach juice. Lingering hop bitter finish. Tasty, but rather one-dimensional.

Characterfull aromatic hops - pine, grass, citric notes and flowers. Pale green golden, unfiltered, foamy lacing white head. Body is on the light side, mouthfeel rather fizzy. Interresting herbal, citric and flowery hop profile though - perhaps a bit overdone. Flowery perfumed finish. Nice with a flavorfull low-alcohol pils - I must admit I do like a somewhat plainer hop offering though.
