Draft at Brew on Quay. Very dark maroon color, thick beige head with good retention and solid lacing. Aroma is freshly roasted Yirgacheffee coffee beans. Taste is intense burning espresso beans, like being at a coffee ceremony in Addis. Not for the feint of heart. Delicious.

Poured from 500mL bottle. Clear very dark brown with nice beige head. Predominant hoppy aroma, hint of caramel. Tastes starts off hoppy and quickly recedes into a chocolatey roasted mouthfeel. Dry finish, medium body.

500mL bottle, pours black with a small beige head. Aroma of lightly toasted malt, a little char, and some piney hops in the background - not as hoppy on the nose as many black IPAs out there. Flavour is similar, bringing out lots of roasted / toasted malt upfront, transitioning to dry piney hops on the finish. Not the hoppiest or full-bodied of black IPAs, but pleasant enough flavours and kind of a thin palate. Good stuff, but leaves a little to be desired.

From a 500ml bottle on 16/5/2013. Pours a clear medium golden with a medium bright white head. Has a glorious floral, fruity aroma featuring lots passionfruit and lychee. There’s some moderate caramel and toffee malt notes up front, along with masses of sweet fruit, including more passionfruit, apricot, peach and mango. But this one is all about the hops. A sharp, lingering grapefruit bitterness is the backbone of this fabulous IPA. The body and carbonation are medium. A delicious, challenging full on brew.

Dark brown with bubbly head. The aroma is lightly chocolatey but with a bit of butter. On the palate, this is an old school fruity porter, with raisins, liquorices, plums and that sort of thing. Ok, but the specific flavours are not that compelling to me.
