On tap at Bottleworks, pours an opaque dark mahogany brown with a small beige head. Aroma has plenty of tart cherry pie, some wild bugs, and gentle oak. Flavour has plenty of fluffy, tart cherry pie, and some bugginess. Very fluffy palate, but great cherry character despite a lack of depth. Good.

Can at home, 15th December 2025. First imperial stout from Jester King and it’s excellent - looking forward to being back at the farm in February.

Sampled Christmas 2025! It's a fair question whether this thing can hold up for 8 years. Did it? Well, at first pass its fine, but is it at its best? Most likely not, and unfortunately I haven't had it before so I couldn't compare to any other experiences. Vinuous notes are pretty hard to come by here, instead it features a strong doughy funky and acetic character, somewhere in the gueuze realm but a bit sweeter. It's not especially subtle or complex, rather just a semi-sweet and strongly sour whack. Mild cloudy at first pour, to more murky once some sediment escapes into the final pour. Golden to orange-ish color, light carbonation, thin and quickly fading head. 750ml bottle from Shamrock Liquors near UCF, Orlando FL

Blend 7. 500mL bottle, pours a cloudy dark amber orange with a small white head. Aroma has a wonderfully bright strawberry character, oak, and wild yeast in good cohesion. Flavour is pleasantly acidic, with lots of wild yeast, dry oak, and bright strawberries. Nice incorporation of the strawberries, with the wild yeast nicely expressed. Excellent.

Gift from friend PB. Thanks man! Smells a little bit like a Christmas tree. Aromas are resin, malt and a little citrus. Flavors are similar to nose and just slightly more sweet than bitter. Good body and carbonation.

Pint can - labeled at 12% abv - pours mostly black with a faint ring of lace - looks a little like cola - creamy texture, medium body - pretty standard old school American imperial stout - coffee, chocolate, a little bit of smoke - moderate warmth - some blueberries and cream late, touch of vanilla - finish is slightly harsh/abrasive, with lingering smoke and alcohol burn - it’s perfectly fine.

Pint can - near black, very carbonated, with a thick, fizzy tan head - vanilla is very heavy in this, as is a very strong boozy alcohol that burns in the finish - that is a shame because underneath all that is a really nice showcase of earth British maltiness and subtle layers of smoke - it’s just hard to enjoy that stuff because of how hot the beer is.
