A lightly hazed golden ale with very thin white head. In aroma, nice crisp malt with light Brett, light lactic notes, light cereals, pleasant. In mouth, a nice lightly tart ground cherry, light lactic notes, very nice.

16 ounce can from Tavour. Dark brown pour. Rocky tan head. Dark roasted malt aroma hints at chocolate. Big roasted malt flavor has notes of dark chocolate, vanilla and treacle. Lots of warming alcohol in middle. Finishes dark, strong and bittersweet. A big stout that’s a bit rough around the edges.

This is now a 12.0% version. Solid beer. Treacle flavor with overt roast. Overt licorice on the flavor leads into anise. Astringent. I started rating it higher and the. Seems to keep downgrading.

Bottle pour at Zwanze Day 2026, at The Sovereign in Washington DC. Poured a hazy yellow color with a huge, foamy white sized white head. Aroma was really nice wheat, with some pleasant funky yeast, typical of Jester King. Herbal, bitter orange, some light spice. Flavor was very light tartness, slightly soapy. Really subtle.
