Description
DEYA Brewing Company is an independent brewery in Cheltenham, UK. We focus on hoppy beers, lagers, traditional UK styles and mixed fermentation ales. We strive to make world class beer.
Theo founded DEYA in 2015 having become obsessed with American beer and beer culture. In January 2016, Theo picked up the keys to a 4,000ft2 industrial unit in Cheltenham. Once the 10bbl brewery kit was installed, the burgeoning DEYA team dedicated themselves to producing the most delicious pale ales, IPAs and hoppy beers that they could. In 2017, following more national and international acclaim, brewing capacity is doubled with the addition of three 40HL fermentation vessels. In March 2018, a 1000 cans per hour canning line was purchased to complement the four new 40HL fermentation vessels that were to be added in October. This move takes capacity to 3,500HL. In 2019 year we are expanding into a new 25,000 sq/ft premises and installing a bespoke 40hl 4 vessel brewhouse allowing us to significantly increase capacity.
We take a holistic approach to business, striving to be the best employer we possibly can be, while operating in a fair, sustainable and human driven way.

500ml can. Pours a cloudy muddy brown colour with a large frothy off-white head, good retention and lacing - I saw someone describe this beer as looking like sewage and unfortunately that is quite accurate. Thankfully the aroma and taste are better than its looks. Both are very sweet and fruity, nice tropical fruits bouncing around, but I am getting some butterscotch and toffee (diacetyl?) - presumably not intentional but it’s not bad enough for me to knock too many points off, it did get worse as the beer warmed. Finish has a light hoppy bitterness. Medium bodied, soft carbonation. Good stuff once again from Deya but it seems diacetyl is stopping this one from becoming great. Hopefully they sort that out. Would be a 4.0+ otherwise.

Keg at the Hop Locker (Juan), 16/06/17. Murky pineapple orange with a decent off white cap. Nose is bitter citric pulp, pithy citricana, melon, pine needle, straw. Taste comprises more bitter citric shreds, pineapple, mango, toasted grains, airy malts, light spice, grapefruit, pine needle. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi dank hop bitterness in the close. Decent enough DIPA.

Can. Little Leeds Beer House. Slightly muddy gold. Film and ring of lasting, dirty white head. Nose is big on the vanilla and orange peel. Toasty, buttery malts. There’s a hint of Aqua di Parma about it. Taste is mostly dry, with a touch of spicy hop bitterness. Light body, verges on thin and watery. Spritzy carbonation. Light, estery finish. 8373-14

Can. Little Leeds Beer House. Muddy, pale brown. (Here we go). Thin, lacing, lasting, white head. Nose has dirty dishwater, foremost. Some hop presence, in the form of ripe citrus. Sweet toffee malts. Taste is earthy bitter. Ok mouthfeel. I can’t be bothered going on. Something went wrong here, and I might as well have thrown a fiver down the toilet. 6263-10

Keg at HL1. It pours murky golden - orange with a small white head. The aroma is very juicy, rich, stewed orange, ripe mango, apricot, fruit smoothie, green, dank, weed and passion fruit. The taste is dry, good bitterness, pretty dank, weed, super ripe tropical fruits, mango, peach, nectarine, booze boost, pine needles, fruit smoothie, Earl grey tea, tannin, with a drying and fruity finish. Medium + body and fine carbonation. Rich, juicy and dank. Damn tasty stuff.
