One of my faves, rated for the first time on RateBeer. definite five stars, the yardstick to be measured against for all other Belgians (and other beers too). Delicious and warming, a nice sipper, very relaxing. Love this!

How: Bottle, 1995 vintage, best before 2000-05-30.
Where: Shared with Halle.
Appearance: Dark brown colour. Quickly vanishing beige head.
Aroma: Raisin, dried fruit, some alcohol.
Body: Medium body, quite heavy carbonation at pour but that quickly dissipates and leaves a low carbonated beverage.
Flavour: Raisin, dark fruit, caramel.
Comment: More even than the same aged 6. Less faults in the flavour, but at the same time a bit more boring.

First rating, fresh bottle (8-4-7-4-17):
Bottle @ Monks Sveavägen. Dark colour with a long lasting head. Aroma of roasted grain. Malt, coffee and fruit flavour.

11.2oz bottle poured into a Trappist glass. Pours a cloudy dark brown with about a finger of light tan head. Aroma of dark fruits, caramel, vanilla and toffee. Taste is light sweet and light bitter. Dark fruits, caramel and vanilla. Full bodied with a thin yet sticky texture. Lively carbonation and a long finish. Overall, not bad. I don’t think it’s worthy of the 100 rating it has but I would gladly drink it again.

Bouteille 330ml, 2012. Excellente!

33cl bottle, BBE 2016. Poured amber with a white, creamy, lasting white head. Aroma is very fruity and spicy, plums/dark fruity, but the spices covers alot. Flavor has spices, sweet fruits, yeast and malt. Long lasting fruity, spicy finish. High carbonation, really feels the CO2 in the mouth. Solid. Would be nice to try an older bottle.

Bottle at home. Vintage 2010. Has a black colour with a medium beige head that diminish fast. Smooth aroma with dried fruit, leather, wood, chocolate, herbs and some alcohol and milk (!). The flavour is filled with leather, licorice, alcohol, sweet dried fruit and some brown sugar. Slick and nice mouthfeel, and light bitterness. Ages well, and is balanced and delicious.
