Description
The Brewery was founded in 1367. The brewery has been family-owned since 1879. The owners still maintain the old brewing tradition and the warm hospitality of the Carmelite monastery. The lively mix of yesterday and today, old and new, is increasingly being demanded and valued beyond the borders of our homeland. Carefully selected raw materials, old recipes and the best possible maturation times are the basis for the excellent taste and digestibility of our beer specialties. A high level of craftsmanship and the use of the latest technology guarantee the consistently high quality.

Bottle courtesy of Jonas, many thanks Jonas! Had this at home Attenkirchen, Wednesday 23rd October 2019 listening to Huw Stephens on 6Music. Pours gold, hazy, a white bubble rim. Only just realised that this was a Weizen Hell, assumed it was just a Helles. So wheaty characteristics ahoy here, a bit spritzy with light a sour edge, it's ok, it's certainly has a few challenges. Ok.

Bottle (333 ml): Deep golden to light amber coloured, hazy, no head to speak of, wanilla&wood in the sweet fruity nose, mild (tannic) bitterness, x-mas-spices and traces of ALK underneath; moderate to solid sweet flavour, delicate bitterness detectable, full bodied and soft; sweet fruity finish, spices and some bitterness well detectable, warming alcohol in the aftertaste. A pretty vinous Bock, could serve as a pleasant night-cap...

Gut.

Lovely toffee, licorice and coffeearoma. Sweet and malty flavor with some mango fruitiness, caramel and chichorei. Just a bit thin and sticky.

Bottle. Deep golden color. Cardboard and plums in the aroma. Malty bready, almost vinous flavor with herbal, floral hops. Somewhat disappointing.
